Master/Journeyman Electrician (Meter Tech I)
Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative is seeking a master/journeyman electrician to fill our Meter Technician I role. This position involves installing, verifying, and maintaining metering applications and load management equipment at customer locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain metering equipment.
- Install and maintain load management receivers and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair off peak heating equipment and water heaters
- Test and troubleshoot meters using specialized software.
- Be a technical resource for renewable energy questions and perform system verification testing
- Assist with system maintenance activities
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical courses in electricity/electronics preferred.
- Master or journeyman electrician license required or obtainable within 6 months.
- Minimum two years of experience in transformer metering installations preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Combination of office and field work, including some adverse weather conditions.
- Must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
- Occasional overtime and after-hours service calls required.
- Position may be based in Centuria or Siren office.
