Employees from Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative are collecting Christmas toys and gifts for local children. Donations can be dropped off at co-op offices in Siren and Centuria through December 8.

Co-op hosts 18th annual holiday gift drive for local kids

Co-op members and the public are invited to join Polk-Burnett employees and directors by donating new, unwrapped Christmas presents for local children. Donations will be collected November 24 through December 8 at Polk-Burnett offices in Siren and Centuria during office hours.

“The spirit of giving is never more evident than during our holiday gift drive,” said Joan O’Fallon, Polk-Burnett communications director. “While the holidays are a festive time, we know that they can be tough for some of our neighbors. Thanks to the generosity of our co-op board directors, employees and members like you, we’re able to make the season bright for local kids. Every donation makes a difference.”

Polk-Burnett in Centuria, 1001 State Road 35, is collecting gifts for Operation Christmas to benefit Polk County children.

Polk-Burnett in Siren, 7298 State Road 70, is collecting gifts for Interfaith Caregivers Christmas for Kids to benefit Burnett County children.

Gift ideas for toddlers to teens include games, toys, books, blankets, hats, mittens, coats and gift cards.

“As the holiday season approaches, we’re reminded that this is truly a season of giving,” said Polk-Burnett General Manager Steve Stroshane. “It’s a time for gratitude, generosity and looking out for one another, which are principles that guide us all year long. We’re not just here to keep the lights on, but to make life better for the communities we serve. From all of us at Polk-Burnett, we wish you a happy holiday season.”
