Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative hosts free Electronics Recycle Day for co-op members

Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative will host a free Electronics Recycle Day for co-op members on Friday, April 24, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the co-op office in Centuria, 1001 State Road 35.

Co-op members who receive electricity from Polk-Burnett are invited to drop off computers, TVs and small household electronics, everything from printers and power cords to cell phones, game consoles, cable boxes, curling irons, microwaves and power tools like leaf blowers and shop vacs. We’ll even take car batteries! See complete list of acceptable items.

This event will not accept large appliances, loose batteries, lamps, bulbs and ballasts, smoke detectors, medical waste, hazardous waste or vape pens.

All eligible items are accepted free of charge and responsibly recycled by Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations of Onalaska, WI.

“We’re excited to bring this popular event back for co-op members after taking a few years off,” said Member Services Manager Todd Schulte. “We know this benefits our members and the natural resources we all value. With help from our partners at Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations, our free Recycle Day is an easy way to dispose of electronics safely and responsibly.”

Co-op members are asked to bring their Polk-Burnett electric bill as proof of membership, either a paper or digital copy.
